Leadership Development Event is designed for to create situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication, and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA. Events, both team and individual, are used to reinforce what is taught in agriculture classes.

Agricultural Communications - provides individuals with practical communications skills to pursue career in agricultural communications. Participants will create public communications about agricultural products, practices and policies are essential to the future of agriculture. Students who are equipped with strong communication skills, have developed teamwork skills and who can use a variety of media to help the public understand issues related to the industry of agriculture have a bright future in the job market
Agricultural Issues - provides an opportunity to expose students to the selection, research, planning, and presenting of current agricultural issues
Agricultural Sales Presentation - Students will individually sell an agricultural product or service of their choosing to a participating judge

Creed Speaking - Participants will memorize and recite the creed
Demonstrations - Members will preform a demonstration on an agricultural topic to a panel of judges either on their own or with a partner
Employment Skills - designed for FFA members to develop, practice and demonstrate skills needed in seeking employment in the agricultural industry. Each part of the event simulates "Real World" activities that will be used by real world employers
Exhibit - FFA members work together to produce and exit highlight their chapter's local, state, and national FFA programs and inform the community about each
Extemporaneous Public Speaking - FFA members are given an agriculture topic and they must deliver an impromptu speech
Leadership Ambassador - Allows senior FFA members to showcase their accomplishments in FFA and knowledge of current agriculture issues
Persuasive Essay - FFA members will demonstrate their knowledge written communication skills through the development of an essay
Prepared Public Speaking - FFA members present a prepared speech written on an agricultural topic to a panel of judges, who then ask the contestant a series of questions about the topic of their speech
Scrapbook (Traditional or Multimedia) - pictures of FFA chapters demonstrating the activities they have completed each month in an organized scrapbook
Quiz Bowl - Middle school to sophomore FFA members answer FFA and general agriculture questions
